About

Photography is an escapade, that is one of the answers that most people would give when you ask them about the reason why they do what they do. Hobbyist at the very least, the ones who are willing to spare some room within their bag or some weight on their neck for this particular tool.
I love painting, but I’ve come to this phase in my life that obbliged me to accept the fact that painting can only be done by children or senior citizens. Not for your regular joe, unless joe is a full time painter or joe doesn’t have to work for money.
It’s about the time, the chance, the perception, and how all of that factors would contribute to the well being of one’s mentality. It might not be comprehensible to some, but it is to me.
So photography it is, not that I deem it is a secondary “activity”. Try asking the practitioners, and you would have so many opinions about the meaning of photography, about whether anyone deserves to call themselves “photographer”, the meaning of “photographer”, the differences between “pro” and “amature”, what constitutes “beautiful” or “good” or “meaningfull” or “flat”picture” also the meaning of the word “art” related to photography.
And you might never get to the “digital darkroom” part.
Photography, for me, is simply capturing life. The magic of “stillness” is there to mesmerize me, as oppose to video which is still bound to time… see the digital mark ticking? But it’s just my reasoning, and I don’t have anything against video, it possesses the magic of it’s own.
So here’s photography, my take…
